Boogieman DLC Officially Teased For Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed!

The Boogieman Cometh! In June of last year, the team at Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed by IllFonic held an open poll to determine what the next BIG bad would be to be added to their popular online multiplayer. Fans came out in droves to voice who they'd love to zap and trap! With the Librarian ghost coming in last and Gozer and the Boogieman finishing very close to a tie- The Real Ghostbusters classic villain, The Boogieman took the cake!

For some time the fearsome fan favorite has been the subject of want for adaptation in any medium possible, as it's certainly been one of the darker phantasmal foes the superstars of the supernatural have gone up against with a more than lasting impression. Meanwhile, with no word of further development on GBSU following some downsizing at Illfonic within their creative team, fans were left wondering if we'd ever see this particular DLC or any new additions to the game come to fruition. Although, we were fortunate enough to receive the Slimer skins as well as the Scoleri Brother bounties in October of last year. Luckily for fans, we wouldn't count GBSU out of the game just yet! As of today, the team took to socials to tease the long awaited Boogieman DLC! Simply posting a character model hand and the cryptic message, 'A nightmare approaches...'

Like recent villain additions such as the Scoleri Brothers and Garraka, the Boogieman will undoubtedly be unlockable via one of the games newest playable modes, bounties. The big bads also usually come with a fun story mode incorporated into the specialized lore of the game which is what we as fans are even more excited to see just how the team plays out.
