Don't Make Me Laugh: Ghostbusters Virginia Fan Film Gets Final Trailer Ahead Of Premier!

The Ghostbusters community is without a doubt one of the most creative! That's no exception for Virginia local indie film makers Vee Victor, and Darrell Ayer! Two busters out of VA, a state that seemingly home grows Ghostbusters fan films! Nearly three years in the making, and a testament to the film making chops, collaboration, and passion put behind the project, writer, actor and co-director, Vee Victor hopes those supernatural sentiments show through in the final product!

“I always wanted to do something in the vein of a buddy cop story. But, beneath that, it’s a story about pushing beyond self-doubt to find your confidence and succeed, which is something I needed to hear when I wrote it", says Vee. Going on to say how Ghostbusters helped reignite her passion for her craft, “DMML has really reinvigorated me. It’s brought me back to my love for filmmaking after feeling pretty lost during the covid years. I was worried my creative spark had gone out, but thankfully it hasn’t! I owe this, in part, to my co-producer and DP, Darrell Ayer, whose enthusiasm and determination really got us started on the path.”

The team's dedication to the craft and the franchise is something Vee hopes will resonate from the film, commenting, “After over two years in the making, we’re SO excited to finally share Don’t Make Me Laugh! I hope our movie resonates with fans, especially those in the real-life Ghostbusters community. The sense of camaraderie that develops from working on a GB team really inspired me.”

As all involved are also members of the 501c3 Non-Profit organization, Ghostbusters, Virginia, the team will also be on site promoting their charity efforts during the film's local premier at the historic Byrd Theater in Richmond, VA. The first Ghostbusters premiere the theater has seen since the fan film, Ghostbusters: Hellbent in 2009!

Currently the team is spearheading a national initiative, Proton Pets, aiming to raise funds and gather supplies for animal shelters in need across the US. Other franchises interested in getting involved with this supernaturally spectacular initiative can point their PKE meters at Ghostbusters, Virginia's official socials.

The new original short film premiers THIS Friday at 8pm EST on YouTube. Meanwhile, Virginia locals are encouraged to attend the film's premier to show your support for the superstars of the supernatural behind the production, and donate to some great causes including Proton Pets as well as the continued upkeep of the historic theater.
