Hi-C Social Team Addresses Ecto-Cooler Demand (sort of)!

No matter what your opinion may be of 2016's Ghostbusters film, if there's one thing EVERYONE can agree on, it was really nice to see Ecto-Cooler back on store shelves for the first time in YEARS. Although at the time, missing the familiar Ghostbusters mascot- Slimer!

Since then it has seemingly slipped right back into the Coca-Cola vault, aside from an incredibly limited batch made up to hand out and promote the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, particularly at the film's red carpet premier.

Needless to say, these nostalgic teases have less than satisfied the Ghostbusters community's lust for that supernatural sip! With almost every post made on the Hi-C Social media page, comes a relatively harmless fan backed campaign to bombard the page, expressing their love and demand that Ecto-Cooler make a comeback! Not to mention a consistent fan created movement known as the Ecto Cooler Resurgence. Without a doubt- the fans have made clear what they want!

Today, whomever manages the Hi-C Social media page hilariously and innocently clapped back! With a multiple choice option teasing which classic flavor they'd be bringing back with a swift follow up image saying, 'Chill I know all y'all want is Ecto-Cooler'.

The post header reads, 'I keep telling my boss to bring it back but they're not listening to me yet, ok?!?' So without a doubt, the fans echoing voices have more than been heard! Although, there may be several marketing based factors as to why Ecto-Cooler hasn't yet made another return. Meanwhile, Slimer having slid his way back on to the big screen in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire certainly feels like a missed opportunity.

While the powers that be may not have listened just yet, there's nothing wrong with gentle and friendly reminders of what the fans crave! Keep it up Ghostbusters fans! Who knows what may happen in the future?

Ecto-Cooler originally hit store shelves in 1989 as a renamed version of Hi-C's previous beverage, Citrus Cooler. It continued a successful run through 2001, although Slimer had long left the packaging.
