NYC MAYOR ELECT TO BE SWORN IN AT GHOSTBUSTERS 2 SUBWAY STATION ON NEW YEARS EVE!

It's slime time! In an all too appropriate turn of events, the latest NYC Mayor elect has chosen the closed New York City Hall subway station as the location in which he will be sworn in to office TONIGHT on New Years Eve! While the actual City Hall station was not used for filming on Ghostbusters 2, it heavily inspired the set that would be built to represent where our team discovered the river of slime!

Production took inspiration both from this closed subway stop, as is evident from the elaborate tile work, as well as the real life abandoned Beach Pneumatic Transit System. From these, the fictional Van Horne Transit System was born.

Fans looking to catch a glimpse of the real life City Hall station can still do so by riding the 6 train to the end of its loop, or by becoming a member of the NYC Transit Museum and buying tickets for guided tours!
