Get some updates on our Ghostbusters Weekend Wrap Up!

Speaking with The New York Post, to promote the upcoming season of his latest show The Unexplained, Dan Aykroyd was asked about the possibility of co-star Bill Murray's return - provided the franchise continues to move forward. The original superstar of the supernatural seemed doubtful EITHER of them would be moving forward with the rest of the team.

He continues, 'I think probably they're going to move on to advancing it beyond the originals, which they should.'

Aykroyd had previously said he'd go on to do the Ghostbusters films for as long as they'd let him! Even preemptively giving permission to utilize modern technology to add him in as a ghost! Meanwhile, while promoting her latest film, Lake George, Carrie Coon spoke with ComicBook dot com, giving a less than progressive Ghostbusters sequel update.

While the film IS happening and still clearly in the very early stages of development, Coon reveals, 'I have not seen a script.' Although that doesn't mean she's without ideas for her character, Callie Spengler's, future.

'The joke is always that Callie is dead from alcoholism and comes back as a nagging ghost. But I suspect that's probably not the direction they're going.'

Just last month during the release tour of Saturday Night, Kenan teased the latest Ghostbusters film future saying, 'We definitely are continuing the conversation of telling big 'Ghostbuster' stories on the big screen.'

Last Friday, Ernie Hudson sat down with Coming Soon, and expressed he'd love to be involved in the current and any potential animated Ghostbusters projects!

'I told Jason, Don't ever let anybody do Winston's voice unless I'm gone.'

He cites some of the various stories surrounding his original audition for Winston in The Real Ghostbusters, explaining he didn't believe the studio thought any if the original cast would be interested in an animated show, and that they just really wanted Arsenio Hall.

Continuing of upcoming Ghostbusters animated projects, Hudson says, 'I love doing voice over work and I'd be very heartbroken if anyone voiced Winston from this point moving forward.'

And we personally think the majority of the fandom would welcome that with open arms! While little is known, we still have the upcoming Netflix series to look forward to on the relative future. Netflix, Hudson is waiting to answer the call! Fans can currently catch Ernie Hudson voicing Winston in Illfonic's Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.

As it stands, Sony hasn't green lit a sequel to this year's, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. However, we look forward with optimism to the supernatural success of our favorite phantasmal franchise!
